After taking a week off for some need rest I had a pretty good Chest/Tricep day. The only two people in the gym today was my Beautiful wife and myself. Luckily she is a great spotter. With her help i was able to work my way up to 305. Without a spotter i would have stayed around 285 in order to be safe. After all, the last thing that i want is to tear another Pectoral muscle. Incline was decent, and dumbell flies were pretty hardcore. I seem to always push myself a little too hard my first day back, although today was not quite as bad. I am looking forward to another 5-6 weeks of straight lifting(3-4 times a week). Hoping that the time off will help to spur on some gains that i have been looking for. I am looking to max out the second week of June on all lifts. From there i should decide a time frame for competing. I have goals in mind that i would like to hit before attempting another competition. If anyone has any ideas on new supplements or techniques, i would be glad to read on them

A little of good and bad to report today. I am condensing down 2 days of lifting into 1 blog. Yesterday was a great Chest day. I was able to press 300 during a workout for the first time in a couple years. Usually i am only able to hit that when utilizing 1 rep sets. Motivation level yesterday was high, and i was optimistic that i would carry that over to a fantastic deadlift today. Unfortunately i was mistaken. I did not have any want to actually go to the gym today. I was not even able to pull 430, but know that it was mainly due to being very tired and tight. I am going to use this feeling of frustration next week during my sessions in the gym. I believe i am going to attempt 465 for the first time
After getting up at 3:30 this morning for work, my motivation level was not as high as i would have liked. Probably a 6 or 7 out of 10. Needless to say, i really did not want to deadlift today. I did, however have a pretty good workout today. For the second lift in a row i was able to pull 455, although it was harder today than last week. I am already looking forward to lifting on Friday. I have the day off from work and if all things go well i am going to attempt 460 maybe 465. It is strange but it all depends on what song seems to be on when i attempt a max. I find myself really pumped when listening to Sixx A.M’s Life is Beautiful. I am going to enjoy taking the next 2 days off and relaxing with my family.
First day back in the gym in about a week. My son was sick and i did not feel right leaving my wife to take care of him alone. Actually had a decent workout today. I always find it hard to get back in the gym after more than 3 days off in a row. I seem to lose my strength really quick. However, I was able to pretty much pick back up where i left off a week ago. Again, i was the only one in the gym today for the most part so i found it hard to go too heavy. Especially after already tearing my chest years ago. I do not want to go thru that again. I was able to workout up to 285 with repping a couple with good form. My incline is beginning to peak, lifted up to 250 today for 5. First goal for chest is to incline 275. I want to reach that by April 14th and benching 315 with good form without a spotter by the end of April. I am looking forward to deadlift tomorrow. Already planning out my workouts so that i can attempt my next goal of 275 also by the end of the month. I want to have 5 plates by the end of June, but of course will work my tail off to reach that goal ahead of time. Once i am able to deadlift 500 and bench 34o again with ease, i am going to start to look for a meet to enter. The only issue that i have is my squat. I have been squatting for a little more than a month and can maybe push 330 to 35o on a good day. I have had bad knees since college ball and have always used that as an excuse to not work that lift. I would appreciate any suggestions or helpful hints that anyone has for me especially with my squat. I would love to enter atleast one meet by the end of summer. Yell at me!!!!
